The New Co-Main Event at UFC Edmonton

UFC Edmonton has recently announced a shakeup in their co-main event, with Derrick Lewis now set to face kickboxer Jhonata Diniz at the upcoming UFC Fight Night event on November 2nd at Rogers Place. In addition to this change, Alexandr Romanov will now be taking on Rodrigo Nascimento. The news of these new matchups was reported by Laerte Viana, with sources indicating that the original co-main event of Lewis vs. Romanov was split for reasons unknown.

Derrick Lewis, also known as “The Black Beast,” has won two of his last three fights and has solidified himself as one of the most popular fighters on the UFC roster despite facing ups and downs throughout his career. On the other hand, Jhonata Diniz, a former standout kickboxer, has an undefeated record in the UFC and is coming off wins against Austen Lane and Karl Williams. This matchup promises to be a striking-heavy battle on paper, offering Diniz a massive opportunity to showcase his skills in just his third UFC fight.

Alexandr Romanov, who has recently faced a string of losses in his career, aims to turn things around when he takes on Rodrigo Nascimento at UFC Edmonton. Nascimento, coming off a defeat at the hands of Lewis in his last fight, will be looking to bounce back from that loss and regain his winning momentum. This matchup sets the stage for an exciting battle between two fighters hungry for redemption.

With these newly announced matchups, the UFC Fight Night lineup for November 2nd now includes Rose Namajunas vs. Erin Blanchfield, Derrick Lewis vs. Alexandr Romanov, Ariane da Silva vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius, Marc-Andre Barriault vs. Dustin Stoltzfus, Jamey-Lyn Horth vs. Ivana Petrovic, and Chad Anheliger vs. Cody Gibson. The addition of these new co-main and main event fights adds an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming event, promising fans a night of thrilling and action-packed matchups.
